For graduate students, understanding the facilities, services, and information resources available is an important first step in supporting their academic studies and research. This was introduced to new students of the Master of Law and Master of Litigation Law programs at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), through a library visit to the UGM Library and Archives on August 14 and 15, 2026.

This was introduced to new students of the Master of Science and Doctoral Programs at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), through a Campus Tour of UGM Library and Archives on Friday (August 14, 2026). The activity was part of the New Student Academic Orientation and the Researchers’ Enrichment Program (REACH) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year, organized by the Master of Science and Doctoral Programs at FEB UGM.
Kimpul, a local tuber that has recently gained widespread attention on social media, is more than just a substitute ingredient in creative cooking. Behind its newfound popularity, this local crop has been the subject of research at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) for more than three decades. A search of the UGM Library and Archives’ Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETD) collection has identified at least five studies on kimpul, covering a range of topics, from its functional properties and starch modification to microencapsulation and food packaging applications.

The challenge of managing references and citations often becomes a stumbling block that slows down academics in writing scientific papers. For many researchers and students, compiling bibliographies and managing references is frequently the most time consuming and even frustrating phase of academic writing. A minor error in citation formatting can be fatal during the journal review process. Addressing this academic concern, the Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Library and Archives took a proactive step by organizing the “Academic Writing Serial Literacy Workshop: Mendeley Integration in Journal Databases for Publication.”
The meeting room at the UGM Library and Archives was filled with engaging discussions on Wednesday (August 5). More than just a courtesy visit, the benchmarking session between the Library of UIN Sunan Kudus and the UGM Library and Archives provided a valuable platform for exchanging ideas on how academic libraries continue to adapt to the rapidly evolving digital information ecosystem.
