Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming increasingly integrated into the research process, from finding references and summarizing scholarly articles to assisting with drafting manuscripts. However, its use requires clear boundaries. While AI can help researchers work more efficiently, it should never replace their analysis, critical thinking, or academic responsibility.

Learning from Southeast Asia: UGM Library Prepares for the Future through the Plural Futures Concept
What if libraries were no longer just places to borrow books, but also hubs for AI-powered learning, smart digital services, and strategic partners in research and innovation? This is the future envisioned by Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Library and Archives through its workshop, “UGM Library Embracing Plural Futures: Learning from Best Practices in Southeast Asia,” held online on 19 and 22 June 2026.
Access to high-quality academic journals and scholarly resources has become essential for the academic community in producing impactful research. However, access alone is not enough. The ability to effectively utilize scholarly resources and understand the international publishing process is key to ensuring that research findings reach a wider audience.
Identifying an appropriate research gap is often a challenge for researchers, particularly during the early stages of a research project. To address this need, the Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Library and Archives once again organized the Literature Review Series Workshop: Scoping Review Search on Wednesday (June 10) at the Seminar Room, 2nd Floor, L1 Building, UGM Library and Archives.
Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), in collaboration with Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI), officially inaugurated the Co-Working Space by BNI Berbagi at the UGM Library and Archives on Tuesday, May 13, 2026. The inauguration marks the initial step of a strategic partnership between BNI and the UGM Library and Archives in supporting the development of a modern, collaborative, and adaptive learning space for library users.
Amid increasingly competitive demands for scientific publication, the ability to conduct precise literature searches has become an essential asset for researchers. To address this need, the Library and Archives of Universitas Gadjah Mada organized a Workshop Series on Literature Review titled “Maximizing the Utilization of Scopus & Scopus AI to Support Research & Publication” on Tuesday (12/5) at the Seminar Room, 2nd Floor, L1 Building, UGM Library and Archives.
Universitas Gadjah Mada Library and Archives organized a workshop titled Literature Review: Bibliometric Analysis Method on Thursday (April 30) at the Seminar Room, 2nd Floor, L1 Building. The event aimed to enhance the ability of the academic community to develop more systematic, structured, and data-driven literature reviews.
Responding to the rapid growth of scientific publications and the increasing need for data-driven research, the UGM Library and Archives organized a national webinar titled “Bibliometric Analysis as a Strategic Library Service” as part of the Ngabuburit with the UGM Librarians Forum series. The event was held online via Zoom on Wednesday (11/3/2026).
The rapid transformation of digital technology is increasingly reshaping how libraries manage knowledge and deliver information services. Responding to this dynamic change, the Librarians Forum of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) organized a national webinar titled “AI Without the Drama: Practical, Affordable, and Ready to Use” as part of the Ngabuburit Bersama Forum Pustakawan UGM series, held online on Wednesday (March 4, 2026).
Digital transformation is prompting libraries and archival institutions to swiftly reorganize their information management strategies.
