Access to reputable scholarly sources is key to producing high-quality research. Responding to this need, the Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Library and Archives organized the ProQuest E-Journal Workshop as a Source for Research and Scholarly Writing to strengthen the academic community’s capacity to optimally utilize global academic databases.

A book is not born out of silence, but from encounters of ideas across professions, continuously refined through dialogue and reflection. This spirit was championed by the Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Library and Archives through the ArchiTalk & LibSpeak Special Event, an online discussion forum that explored the creative process behind the book Masa Depan Pengetahuan: Transformasi Perpustakaan dan Arsip dalam Ekosistem Pengetahuan Baru, held on Wednesday (28 January 2026).
The Forum of Librarians at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) organized UGM’s LibSpeak 10, a national webinar titled “Automating Data Analytics with Artificial Intelligence for Library Service Development: Is It Necessary?”, on Tuesday (January 27, 2026), held online. The event was attended by 631 participants, including librarians, academics, students, and practitioners from various regions across Indonesia.
The Library and Archives of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) have implemented a gate access system as a mechanism for managing visitor entry and exit. This policy is part of an effort to address two main objectives: enhancing security for library and archives users and monitoring visitor data as a basis for evaluating and developing service facilities. Through this system, visitor entry and exit activities are automatically recorded via an integrated information system.
The UGM Library and Archives held a talkshow titled “Addressing Energy Challenges: Building Renewable Energy Businesses (EBT) Without Capital from Campus” on Wednesday, 27 November 2025, at the Seminar Room. The event served as a platform for students and the public to discuss clean energy innovations and future business opportunities in the renewable energy sector.
The Library and Archives of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) received a benchmarking visit from the Graduate School of UIN Kiai Ageng Muhammad Besari Ponorogo on Friday, 21 November 2025, to discuss the management of theses and dissertations as well as various strategies to increase library visits as part of efforts to strengthen SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.
The spirit of strengthening academic contributions to sustainable development was strongly reflected in the Poster Presentation & Seminar on the SDGs 2025 and the Grand Award Researcher Award LPDP UGM 2025, organized by LPDP UGM on Tuesday, 18 November 2025, at the Seminar Room of the Library and Archives of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). From morning until late afternoon, the event brought together students in a forum that ignited discussions on research, innovation, and scientific contributions to accelerate SDGs progress toward a Sustainable Indonesia 2030.
The Library and Archives of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), in collaboration with the international publisher Taylor & Francis, held a workshop titled “Guide for Academic: From Research to Publication” on Wednesday (November 12) at the Seminar Room, L1 Building, 2nd Floor, and online via Zoom Meeting. The event served as a concrete step to strengthen the capacity of UGM’s academic community in achieving publication in reputable international journals.
Efforts to strengthen digital knowledge management systems encouraged representatives from the Ministry of Finance Library to conduct a study visit to the Library and Archives of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). The visit, held on Tuesday (November 11) at the UGM Library and Archives Meeting Room, focused on repository management strategies ranging from Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETD) to Library Dosen (Faculty Publications Repository).
Amid the rapid rise of artificial intelligence that is transforming the way people access and manage knowledge, the Librarians’ Forum of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held a national webinar titled “The Future of Library: Human, Machine, and Knowledge” on Wednesday (October 29). The event served as a reflective forum on the future of libraries in the era of human–machine synergy, engaging hundreds of librarians, academics, and information professionals from across Indonesia.
