On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, a strong sense of warmth and togetherness filled the Seminar Room, Building L1, 2nd Floor of the UGM Library and Archives. The Halal Bihalal event, held after the Eid al-Fitr celebration, brought together the entire UGM Library and Archives family—leaders, staff, retirees, cleaning service personnel, and part-time student workers. The event reflected the high value placed on friendship and unity within the institution.
In the spirit of togetherness and compassion during Ramadan, the UGM Library and Archives is offering a free takjil-sharing program for library users. The takjil, consisting of snacks for breaking the fast, is available in the lobby on the first floor and can be enjoyed by all visitors while supplies last.
In an era of abundant information, finding credible academic sources poses a significant challenge. Recognizing the importance of high-quality scientific literature, several students from the National Resilience Study Program with a specialization in the Master’s Program in Peace and Conflict Resolution (MPRK) Graduate School UGM, have chosen the UGM Library and Archives as their primary destination for deepening their academic literature search strategies.
A solemn atmosphere enveloped the L7 Building, 1st Floor, UGM Library and Archives, on Thursday afternoon (13/3). To commemorate the holy month of Ramadan, a religious sharing session was held with Ustadz Rohmad Ichwan Abdul Bashir, S.Pd.I. The event, which took place from 3:00 to 4:30 PM WIB, was attended by the management team, library and archives staff, cleaning service personnel, and part-time students seeking to deepen their religious understanding during this blessed month.

The Library and Archives of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) continue to enhance collection management by conducting a weeding process for printed periodicals in February 2025. Weeding is a selection process aimed at retaining frequently used materials while relocating older, less-accessed collections to specialized storage areas. Through this process, collections with high usage levels will remain in the main reading area, while those with lower usage or available in digital format will be stored in a dedicated space on the third floor of the L6 building.
