Efforts to strengthen library governance within government institutions have once again drawn attention. The Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) Representative Office of Central Java conducted a working visit to the Library and Archives of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) on Tuesday (November 5, 2025). The visit served as a platform for sharing experiences and exploring best practices in library management.

Amid the rapid rise of artificial intelligence that is transforming the way people access and manage knowledge, the Librarians’ Forum of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held a national webinar titled “The Future of Library: Human, Machine, and Knowledge” on Wednesday (October 29). The event served as a reflective forum on the future of libraries in the era of human–machine synergy, engaging hundreds of librarians, academics, and information professionals from across Indonesia.
The meeting room on the 2nd floor of Building L7, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Library and Archives, was filled with a spirit of collaboration as a delegation from Udayana University Library arrived for a benchmarking visit. The delegation was led by Gede Arda, S.T.P., M.Sc., Ph.D., Head of Udayana University Library, accompanied by four staff members, including the library secretary, librarian, and electronic collection manager.

The Library and Archives of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) won 3rd Place at the national level in the Academic Library Innovation Award (ALIA) 2025, organized by the Indonesian Higher Education Library Forum (FPPTI) Central Board.
