A solemn atmosphere enveloped the L7 Building, 1st Floor, UGM Library and Archives, on Thursday afternoon (13/3). To commemorate the holy month of Ramadan, a religious sharing session was held with Ustadz Rohmad Ichwan Abdul Bashir, S.Pd.I. The event, which took place from 3:00 to 4:30 PM WIB, was attended by the management team, library and archives staff, cleaning service personnel, and part-time students seeking to deepen their religious understanding during this blessed month.

The Library and Archives of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) continue to enhance collection management by conducting a weeding process for printed periodicals in February 2025. Weeding is a selection process aimed at retaining frequently used materials while relocating older, less-accessed collections to specialized storage areas. Through this process, collections with high usage levels will remain in the main reading area, while those with lower usage or available in digital format will be stored in a dedicated space on the third floor of the L6 building.
The Library Clinic session was held with the topic “Bibliometrics” on Tuesday (25/2) in the WOW Meeting Room at the UGM Library and Archives. The session, which took place from 9:30 to 11:30 AM WIB, featured Janu Saptari, S.IP., as the facilitator. Participants gained knowledge and skills in conducting bibliometric analysis, a method used to evaluate and map scientific literature.
In an effort to expand literacy access and strengthen strategic partnerships, the Yogyakarta City Library and Archives Office visited the Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Library and Archives on Friday (21/2). The visit was warmly received by the UGM Library and Archives Management Team, accompanied by several staff members, in the Archives Meeting Room, 2nd Floor.
Yogyakarta – Five undergraduate students from the Library and Information Science Program at Diponegoro University (UNDIP) have successfully completed their internship at the Library and Archives of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). This internship program lasted for 34 days, from December 23, 2024, to February 14, 2025. Throughout the program, students gained hands-on experience in various aspects of library and archival management as part of efforts to enhance educational quality and strengthen partnerships between academic institutions.
In an effort to support literacy development among students, UGM Library and Archives reaffirmed its commitment through the Book Donation @UGMLibrary program. On this occasion, a total of 80 book titles with 91 copies were donated to SMK Pariwisata Bantul in a symbolic handover ceremony held in the lobby of UGM Library and Archives on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
