In an era of abundant information, finding credible academic sources poses a significant challenge. Recognizing the importance of high-quality scientific literature, several students from the National Resilience Study Program with a specialization in the Master’s Program in Peace and Conflict Resolution (MPRK) Graduate School UGM, have chosen the UGM Library and Archives as their primary destination for deepening their academic literature search strategies.
As part of the Social Research Methodology course, the students participated in an academic session held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, in the Meeting Room of Building L6, 2nd Floor, UGM Library and Archives. On this occasion, Safirotu Khoir, Ph.D., Coordinator of Public Relations and International Affairs at the UGM Library and Archives, guided the students in accessing reliable scientific sources subscribed to by the library.
Beyond learning how to search for information, students also gained valuable insights into composing a well-structured literature review. Safirotu Khoir emphasized the importance of using
credible scientific sources to ensure that literature reviews serve as a strong foundation for high-quality research.
More than just an academic activity, this session aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education. The UGM Library and Archives is committed to being an open and inclusive learning hub that supports student research development.
To maximize student support, the UGM Library and Archives also offers the Library Clinic program, a consultation service available daily without prior registration. Here, students can engage in discussions on reference searching, academic citation, bibliometric analysis, and scientific writing techniques.
With its extensive facilities and outstanding services, the UGM Library and Archives is not only a place for reading but also an intellectual laboratory for students. Through this activity, MPRK students are increasingly prepared to design research that is not only academically rigorous but also impactful for society.
