Optimizing the Use of E-Resources, UGM Library and Archives Holds Training of Trainer for Librarians
Yogyakarta, November 19-20, 2024 – In an effort to support the optimization of e-resources utilization, the UGM Library and Archives organized a Training of Trainer (TOT) for librarians, held at the Computer Lab Room, L1 Building, 5th Floor, UGM Library and Archives. This event was attended by a number of librarians and library staff from UGM, eager to deepen their understanding of accessing and utilizing the available library databases.
Yogyakarta, October 31, 2024 – A workshop titled “Disaster Risk Management: Managing Strategies for Disaster Prevention and Preparedness” was held in collaboration between Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), the Indonesian Association of University Archives (PAPTI), and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) at the Sekip Room, University Club (UC) Hotel UGM, Yogyakarta, from October 29 to 31, 2024. The workshop was attended by 41 participants representing archival institutions, libraries, and museums from various regions across Indonesia.
Yogyakarta, October 30, 2024 – The International Conference on Archives, Social Science, and Humanities (ICoASHE) 2024 was officially opened on October 28, 2024. The event was organized by Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in collaboration with the Indonesian Association of University Archives (PAPTI). The three-day event ran from October 28 to 30, 2024, at the University Club (UC) Hotel UGM, Yogyakarta, under the theme “Sustainable Archiving, Education, and Cultural Preservation on Global Approach.”

The Library and Archives of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) attended the 19th AUNILO Meeting held on October 30 to November 1, 2024, at Chiang Mai University, Thailand with the theme “Enhancing Future Skills for Academic Librarians”. This meeting was organized by the ASEAN University Network Inter-Library Online (AUNILO) which is part of the ASEAN University Network (AUN) program. The first day opened with a warm welcome from key figures who showed strong support for ASEAN library collaboration. The initial remarks were delivered by Mr. Pratch Sanguansak as Director of Chiang Mai University Library; followed by Prof. Rattasit Sukhahuta, Ph.D. as Vice Chancellor of Chiang Mai University, and followed by Shameem Nilofar Maideen as AUNILO Secretariat and Head of Library of Singapore Management University. Prof. Dr. Thanapan Laiprakobsup as Deputy Executive Director of AUN, also gave his speech and conveyed various AUN programs in strengthening the spirit of collaboration for library development in Southeast Asia.
Yogyakarta, October 23, 2024 – The atmosphere of the first wave postgraduate graduation at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) was made lively by a performance from the “Pustaka Laras” gamelan group from the UGM Library and Archives. With a repertoire of traditional songs, including Gati Padasih, Sasanti Gadjah Mada, Sri Slamet, Asmaradana, Gonjing Miring, Ondhe-Ondhe Semarang, and Gugur Gunung. The performance captivated graduates and invited guests alike.
On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, UGM Library and Archives held another Information Literacy Mini Class at the WOW meeting room. This session provides special training on the introduction of information resources (e-resources) and their utilization, designed to assist the UGM academic community in accessing digital scientific literature from various trusted sources.
UGM Library and Archives once again held a strategic program to maximize the utilization of electronic resources subscribed to Universitas Gadjah Mada through the Springer Nature Workshop. This activity was held on Wednesday, October 09, 2024 in a hybrid manner, with offline sessions in the seminar room, building L1, 2nd floor, and online through Zoom Meeting. More than 300 participants consisting of lecturers, students, and UGM education staff enthusiastically participated in this activity.
The Library and Archives of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held a training activity entitled “Scopus Intensive Training for Librarians: Universitas Gadjah Mada”, which took place on October 1-2, 2024. The training occurred in the Computer Laboratory Room, Building L1 5th Floor, UGM Library and Archives. The event was designed to improve librarians’ skills in accessing and utilizing the Scopus scientific database, one of the academic platforms for searching global literature.
Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Library has again recorded a brilliant achievement by achieving an excellent accreditation score, which is valid until July 31, 2029. This achievement is a clear proof of the quality and commitment of the library in providing excellent services and quality facilities for the academic community.
