Ten staff members of the Library and Archives of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) have officially received the Satyalancana Karya Satya, a state decoration awarded by the President of the Republic of Indonesia. This honor is presented to civil servants who have demonstrated loyalty, dedication, competence, integrity, discipline, and outstanding performance in fulfilling their duties as public servants.
The Satyalancana Karya Satya represents the state’s recognition of the long-standing dedication of civil servants. Through this award, the government acknowledges their tangible contributions in strengthening institutional governance, particularly in literacy, documentation, and knowledge management.
This year, the employees of UGM Library and Archives who received the 30-year service award are Sunarno, S.IP., M.A., Wahyu Supriyanto, S.E., M.Si., Joko Partono, Ratna Setyawati, S.IP., and Roh Wahyu Widayati, S.I.Pust. Meanwhile, the 10-year service award was presented to five other employees, namely Yulistiarini Kumaraningrum, S.P., M.M., Aryanto Nugroho Adi, S.S.I., Maniso, A.Md., Yuliawati Dahniar, A.Md., and Hamami Betananda Setiyarto, S.Kom.
The awards were symbolically presented by Arif Surachman, S.IP., MBA., Head of the Library and Archives of UGM, in a simple yet solemn ceremony held in the Meeting Room, L6 Building, 2nd Floor. The occasion served as a direct expression of institutional appreciation for the long service of its staff members.
Arif emphasized that an institution’s success is not only determined by its collections and technology but also by the dedication of the people working behind the scenes. “Loyal and dedicated staff are invaluable assets for the future development of the Library and Archives of UGM,” he stated.
The awarding of the Satyalancana Karya Satya also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SDG 4: Quality Education is reflected in the role of staff in supporting access to information, literacy, and learning. Meanwhile, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth is manifested through recognition of decent work, acknowledgment of dedication, and the enhancement of human resource professionalism.
