Let’s Understand Better Hosts Trent University Info Session, Opening Opportunities to Study in Canada

The dream of pursuing higher education abroad continues to become more accessible through the Let’s Understand Better (LUB) program. Universitas Gadjah Mada Library and Archives, in collaboration with the Office of International Affairs UGM, organized the Info Session Trent University: Discover Academic Opportunities at Trent University on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the 2nd Floor Seminar Room of Universitas Gadjah Mada Library and Archives.

The event served as a platform for the academic community of Universitas Gadjah Mada to explore international study opportunities, particularly in Canada. Through this forum, participants gained insights into the academic environment, study programs, and the various advantages of Trent University as one of the internationally recognized universities.

The info session featured Javas Afrizal Pratama as the speaker. During his presentation, he explained various academic opportunities at Trent University, including the benefits of studying in Canada, flagship study programs, and the experience of learning in a multicultural and globally oriented academic environment.

In addition to discussing academic programs, the session also covered scholarship opportunities, education funding schemes, and application procedures for prospective international students. This information provided participants with a more comprehensive understanding of planning their studies abroad.

Participants showed strong enthusiasm throughout the event, particularly during the interactive discussion and question-and-answer session. Various questions were raised regarding the application process, campus life, adapting to life in Canada, and career prospects after graduation. This reflected students’ growing interest in international academic mobility.

Through the Let’s Understand Better program, Universitas Gadjah Mada Library and Archives continues to expand its role as a center for information, learning, and global literacy. The library is not only a provider of reference resources but also a space for dialogue that connects students with international academic opportunities.

This event also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education through expanding access to global higher education information, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth through enhancing globally competitive human resource capacity, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through strengthening global academic networks.

Through the collaboration between Universitas Gadjah Mada Library and Archives and the Office of International Affairs UGM, this event serves as a strategic step in expanding access to global higher education information for the academic community. The Let’s Understand Better program not only provides information about studying abroad but also strengthens international academic networks that support student mobility and global capacity development.
