Ministry of Finance Library Learns Repository Management at UGM Library and Archives

Efforts to strengthen digital knowledge management systems encouraged representatives from the Ministry of Finance Library to conduct a study visit to the Library and Archives of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). The visit, held on Tuesday (November 11) at the UGM Library and Archives Meeting Room, focused on repository management strategies ranging from Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETD) to Library Dosen (Faculty Publications Repository).

The delegation consisting of Indratmo Kurniawan, Dani Indah Wiratman, and Shinta Septiana was welcomed by Wahyu Supriyanto, S.E., M.Si., Head of the Library Division, along with Dewi Nushastuti, S.Sos., and Haryanta, S.IP., UGM librarians in charge of repository management.

During the discussion, the UGM team explained the implementation of the self-upload system for the ETD collection, which allows students to take an active role in submitting their academic works. This model is considered effective in enhancing academic independence and digital literacy among the university community, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, which emphasizes the importance of open access to knowledge.

“We develop the repository as a platform for storing, preserving, and disseminating academic works that strengthen the university’s scholarly reputation,” said Wahyu Supriyanto.

In addition, the Library Dosen innovation also became a key discussion point. The system compiles research works by UGM faculty members indexed in Scopus and Web of Science into a single digital platform, creating a structured and easily accessible scientific database. The integration of information technology within this system supports SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, by strengthening digital knowledge infrastructure and improving the efficiency of research management.

“UGM’s approach provides valuable insights for developing a more focused and sustainable repository management system,” said Indratmo Kurniawan, representing the visiting delegation.

The visit also served as a platform to enhance collaboration between academic institutions and government agencies. This synergy reflects the spirit of SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, highlighting how cross-sector collaboration plays a vital role in strengthening the national information ecosystem.

Through this visit, the Ministry of Finance Library gained new perspectives on implementing structured, transparent, and accessible digital repository systems. The initiative opens further opportunities for collaboration to expand public access to knowledge and enhance institutional capacity in the era of digital transformation.
