Salam,

Perlu kami sampaikan bahwa beberapa waktu lalu, beberapa online database atau e-resources yang dilanggan oleh UGM tidak dapat diakses oleh sivitas akademika UGM. Hal ini dikarenakan adanya aktivitas excessive download/massive download atau unduh berlebihan oleh pengguna di lingkungan UGM.  Excesssive/massive download adalah satu tindakan dimana pengguna mengunduh konten atau isi sebuah database elektronik secara simultan dan berlebih di luar batas kewajaran. Hal ini sering terjadi karena pengguna menggunakan satu aplikasi unduh yang dapat melakukan unduh konten suatu database secara simultan atau terus menerus tanpa melalui prosedur yang benar. Tindakan ini dilarang keras oleh semua penyedia e-resources yang ada.

Tindakan excessive/massive download ini sering kali membawa dampak pada diblokirnya akses terhadap suatu database online/e-resources yang dilanggan UGM secara keseluruhan berdasarkan IP Address dimana aktivitas dilakukan. Akibatnya, semua pengguna dari IP Address tersebut tidak dapat mengakses ke dalam database online yang dilanggan UGM. Untuk membukanya kembali, upaya-upaya investigasi harus dilakukan oleh Perpustakaan atau UGM. Hal ini tentu merugikan banyak pihak terutama sivitas akademika yang berkepentingan mencari dan mendapatkan sumber-sumber ilmiah untuk keperluan penelitian maupun pembelajaran.

Untuk itu, kami mengimbau kepada seluruh sivitas akademika untuk menggunakan e-resources yang dilanggan UGM secara bijaksana. Perpustakaan dan tim TI akan melakukan investigasi dan melakukan pemblokiran akun SSO apabila diketahui akun yang dimiliki sivitas akademika digunakan untuk aktivitas excessive download. Kami juga akan merekomendasikan kepada pihak terkait untuk mendapatkan sanksi lebih tegas apabila tindakan excessive download berlanjut dan terbukti merugikan sivitas akademika secara keseluruhan.

Perlu kami informasikan bahwa saat ini kami sedang menghadapi kendala terkait akses beberapa database dari EZPROXY, hal ini dikarenakan kami harus melakukan upgrading Ezproxy yang dimiliki UGM. Untuk sementara waktu apabila ada masalah akses di Ezproxy mohon dialihkan melalui jaringan UGM. Beberapa jurnal/database online yang mengalami gangguan akses adalah Emerald, ACS, ASCE, Wiley, Taylor and Francis, Westlaw dan IEEE.

Perpustakaan UGM mendapatkan trial SAGE Research Methods Suite yang berisi konten-konten metodologi komprehensif dan terintegrasi dengan lebih dari 1,000 buku, referensi, dan artikel jurnal ; studi kasus dari penelitian terdahulu ; datasets bahan pengajaran dan praktek analisis data untuk membantu peneliti menguasai teknik analisis data serta dilengkapi videos mengenai metodologi penelitian.

SAGE Research Methods Suite memenuhi setiap aspek pelatihan skill penelitian dan membantu peneliti di setiap tahapan proses penelitian.
