The Library Clinic session was held with the topic "Bibliometrics" on Tuesday (25/2) in the WOW Meeting Room at the UGM Library and Archives. The session, which took place from 9:30 to 11:30 AM WIB, featured Janu Saptari, S.IP., as the facilitator. Participants gained knowledge and skills in conducting bibliometric analysis, a method used to evaluate and map scientific literature.
During the session, participants learned about the fundamental concepts of bibliometrics, data collection techniques, bibliometric data analysis, as well as the application and interpretation of analysis results in a research context. With these skills, they can optimize information resources to support their academic research.
This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education by providing learning access that enhances academic literacy.
Designed to assist students, lecturers, researchers, and academic staff, the Library Clinic serves as a platform for library users to overcome various academic challenges, particularly in accessing, searching, and utilizing library resources.
The "clinic" concept in the Library Clinic is adapted from medical services, where users facing technical challenges in accessing specific information can consult with librarians as "information specialists" who provide tailored services to meet their needs.
The Library Clinic sessions are held every weekday, from Monday to Friday, with different topics each day. Library users can attend the sessions according to the schedule without registration.
With a more personal and solution-oriented approach, the Library Clinic helps enhance users' understanding and skills in managing and utilizing academic information more effectively.
In an effort to expand literacy access and strengthen strategic partnerships, the Yogyakarta City Library and Archives Office visited the Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Library and Archives on Friday (21/2). The visit was warmly received by the UGM Library and Archives Management Team, accompanied by several staff members, in the Archives Meeting Room, 2nd Floor.
The delegation was led by Afia Rosdiana, M.Pd., Head of the Yogyakarta City Library and Archives Office, accompanied by Nunun Zulaikha, S.IP., M.M., Head of the Library Management and Reading Culture Development Division, along with other staff members from the office.
The visit aimed to explore potential collaboration in journal database access, book collection utilization for UGM’s academic community, and a book donation program. One of the key initiatives discussed was the optimization of UGM’s book donation program, which has garnered significant interest from various libraries.
Additionally, the Yogyakarta City Library and Archives Office introduced their reference service model, which allows the general public to consult and gain access to literature. This concept opens further opportunities for collaboration with UGM Library and Archives in enhancing public access to information.
On this occasion, Arif Surachman, S.IP., MBA, Head of UGM Library and Archives, expressed his support for the proposed collaboration. "We fully support this initiative as part of UGM’s commitment to expanding literacy access. The book donation program and reference service collaboration with the City Library are expected to serve as a bridge for the wider community to access quality reading materials," he stated.
He further emphasized that this initiative should be followed up with a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) to ensure that all planned programs are systematically and sustainably implemented. With this agreement, both institutions can maximize the benefits of their collaboration for the community.
This partnership aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, which aims to enhance access to inclusive and high-quality educational resources. Furthermore, it supports SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, emphasizing institutional synergy as a key factor in broadening the impact of literacy programs.

Yogyakarta – Five undergraduate students from the Library and Information Science Program at Diponegoro University (UNDIP) have successfully completed their internship at the Library and Archives of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). This internship program lasted for 34 days, from December 23, 2024, to February 14, 2025. Throughout the program, students gained hands-on experience in various aspects of library and archival management as part of efforts to enhance educational quality and strengthen partnerships between academic institutions.
During the internship, students were assigned to different sections of library services. In the processing division, they were involved in all stages of processing, from pre-processing to post-processing. Additionally, they provided services in circulation, Electronic Thesis & Dissertation (ETD) services, conducted KKI scanning, and assisted library users at the information desk or help desk. In the public relations department, they contributed to creating social media content for Instagram, while in the Lawang Sajarah section, they worked on digitizing rare collections.
Beyond library services, students also had the opportunity to gain experience in the archival division. They received training in media conversion and authentication, photo archive preservation, and the lamination process for archival materials. Through this program, students not only developed technical skills but also gained a broader understanding of information management and preservation in the digital era.
This internship program aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 on quality education, emphasizing the importance of lifelong learning and inclusive education. By participating in this program, students gained practical experience that enhances their competencies in library and archival science. Additionally, the program contributes to the achievement of SDG 17 on partnerships for the goals by fostering collaboration between UNDIP and UGM to improve educational quality through academic cooperation.
Through this internship, students have successfully applied their academic knowledge in real-world professional settings, equipping them with the skills needed to excel in their field. In an effort to support literacy development among students, UGM Library and Archives reaffirmed its commitment through the Book Donation @UGMLibrary program. On this occasion, a total of 80 book titles with 91 copies were donated to SMK Pariwisata Bantul in a symbolic handover ceremony held in the lobby of UGM Library and Archives on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
The books were handed over directly by Martina Uki E., S.Ipust, UGM Librarian, to a representative of SMK Pariwisata Bantul. The donated books cover various fields of knowledge and general insights that can support students' learning at school.
This donation program is part of UGM Library and Archives' efforts to contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education. Through this initiative, students at SMK Pariwisata Bantul will gain greater access to high-quality reading materials, which can enhance their learning experience.
UGM Library and Archives also invites the public to take part in this literacy movement. A book drop box has been provided on the 1st floor lobby of UGM Library and Archives for anyone who wishes to donate books. The collected books will later be distributed to communities, public groups, or schools in need.
Martina Uki E. expressed her hopes that this program will continue and reach more schools and communities in need. "We believe that access to quality books can be a window of knowledge for the younger generation. Therefore, we invite more people to participate in this program," she stated.

On Thursday, January 30, 2025, a total of 18 students from various faculties who had successfully passed the selection process as part-time students participated in an official briefing session at the Archives Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, UGM Library and Archives. This program is one of the strategic steps to enhance services and optimize information management at UGM Library and Archives.
During the briefing session, the Head of UGM Library and Archives, Arif Surachman, S.IP., MBA., warmly welcomed the selected students. He emphasized the important role of part-time students in supporting the operations of the UGM Library and Archives. "Welcome to UGM Library and Archives. You will become part of a team that directly contributes to various aspects, including library services, archival processing, public relations, and podcast management," he stated.
Furthermore, Arif Surachman explained that the involvement of part-time students not only benefits the institution but also the students themselves. They will gain hands-on work experience, develop communication skills, and understand how the Library and Archives function in supporting academic activities at UGM.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Archives Division, Erna Widayati, S.E., MM., highlighted the importance of synergy between different divisions in the operations of the UGM Library and Archives. She stressed that since the library and archives have officially merged, each part-time student must have cross-disciplinary understanding and be ready to assist one another.

In an effort to enhance the quality of education and access to information, the Podcast Team of the Library and Archives of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) conducted a study visit to InaHealth TV FKKMK UGM on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 21 and 22, 2025. This activity represents a strategic step to deepen the team’s understanding of managing podcasts and YouTube content.
Accompanied by Yulistiarini Kumaraningrum, S.P., M.M., the Podcast Team of the Library and Archives of UGM had the valuable opportunity to learn directly from InaHealth TV, which has experience in digital content production. In a collaborative atmosphere, Project Manager Wisaksono Adhi, S.PT, M.I.Kom., and his team provided in-depth explanations about various practices in YouTube content production, from pre-production to post-production. In addition to theoretical explanations, the Podcast Team also had the chance to see the content production process at InaHealth TV firsthand. This visit provided technical insights while inspiring the team to think creatively in creating informative and engaging content.
This activity aligns with SDG 4, which emphasizes the importance of inclusive and quality education. By utilizing digital media such as podcasts and YouTube, the Library and Archives of UGM aims to reach a broader audience and provide educational content that benefits the community. As a manifestation of support for quality literacy and education, the Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Library and Archives is once again distributing book donations on Monday and Wednesday, January 20 and 22, 2025. A total of 41 titles with 48 copies were donated to SMP Muhammadiyah Kretek, while 40 titles with 50 copies were received by SMP Muhammadiyah Ashidiq Gunung Kidul.
This initiative is part of the Book Donation Program @UGMLibrary, a community service program that connects book donors with beneficiaries in schools or communities in need. Through this program, the UGM Library and Archives supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4, which emphasizes the importance of inclusive and equitable education. "We hope these books can serve as a bridge to broader insights and greater motivation for learning among students," said Roh Wahyu Widayati, S.I.Pust., the Program Manager for Book Donation.
The UGM Library and Archives also provides a Station Book Drop facility for UGM members and the community who wish to participate in donations. The books collected through this facility will be sorted and distributed to schools or communities in need.

The UGM Library and Archives once again became a destination for educational inspiration. This time, 110 students and 10 teachers from SMA Negeri 1 Simpang Pematang made a special visit, which was warmly welcomed in the Seminar Room, Building L1, 2nd Floor, UGM Library and Archives.
Yunitasari, M.Pd., the Principal of SMA Negeri 1 Simpang Pematang, stated that the purpose of this visit was to enrich the students' knowledge, provide information, and inspire them about the UGM Library and Archives. Additionally, the participants gained insights into the UGM admission process, broadening their horizons toward higher education.
Wahyu Supriyanto, S.E., M.Si., Head of the Library Division at UGM, warmly welcomed the participants and expressed appreciation for their enthusiasm for learning. "We are delighted to share information and be part of your educational journey," he said.

Friday, 17 January 2025, Universitas Gadjah Mada Library and Archives held a LibSpeak#3 Webinar with the theme “Learning Good Practices from the AUNILO and TULLIP Programmes”. This webinar presented two speakers, namely Wasilatul Baroroh, S.S.I and Delta Ira Anggreanie, S.IP. The first session was opened with a presentation by Wasilatul Baroroh, S.S.I, who explained in depth about the Higher Education Libraries participating in AUNILO. The speaker explained how this programme is a forum for collaboration between libraries in the ASEAN region to support the development of higher education.
The second session continued with a discussion on the TULLIP Programme (Transforming University Libraries Leadership & Innovation Programme) by Delta Ira Anggreanie, S.IP and Wasilatul Baroroh, S.S.I. The speakers explained how TULLIP, initiated by NUS Libraries, became one of the strategic programmes to improve the leadership and innovation of university libraries, as well as bridging the gap between library professionals in ASEAN and other regions.
The event ended with an interactive discussion and Q&A session. The participants enthusiastically asked questions and shared their views on the topics discussed. This webinar is a valuable moment to broaden horizons and strengthen professional networks in the library field. With the success of this event, it is hoped that higher education libraries in Indonesia will be more motivated to adopt the best practices that have been presented in the webinar.

In an effort to develop innovative and educational podcast content, several staff members of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Library and Archives visited the Faculty of Engineering (FT) UGM on Friday, January 17, 2025. The session was held in the Discussion Room on the 2nd floor of the FT UGM Library and was accompanied by the Head of the Data and Information Systems Division of the UGM Library and Archives, Yulistiarini Kumaraningrum, S.P., M.M.
The visit aimed to gain insights and feedback from the FT UGM podcast team, who have extensive experience in podcast management. The FT UGM podcast team, consisting of Franky Argus Adiwena, S.T., Bagus Wijaya, S.I.P., Muhamad Naufal Fikri, S.T., and Mega Setyowati, shared valuable knowledge on podcast concepts, implementation stages, as well as the facilities and equipment required.
Muhamad Naufal Fikri emphasized the importance of crafting engaging and relevant content for listeners. “Podcasts are a flexible and highly effective medium for reaching a wider audience. The key is to have a strong narrative and continuously innovate to keep the content appealing to listeners,” he stated.
The podcast being developed by UGM Library and Archives is designed as a lifelong learning tool, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, which emphasizes quality education. This activity also reflects the library’s commitment to realizing SDG 17—partnerships for the goals—through collaborations with various stakeholders, including the FT UGM podcast team.
